The ‘2003 Dapong Bay marine carnival’ activity was formally started on 1st of August, and it was an one month long activity. It was the first time to open the mysterious hydro-airplane base that was used during the Japanese occupancy era; the place was used to perform all kinds of on-land or on-water sports activities, which was very suitable for parents bring their childes to come to play during the summer holiday.
The activity was planed at Dapong camping area and at bay areas, and had arranged varieties of on-sea or on-land sports, marine museum, and also facilities to suit with the scenes of the area, a hydro-plane style restaurant, on-sea competition and performance, and more. From 1st of August till 31st, during the summer holiday it provides public all kinds of safe on-sea activities, including individual activities such as kayaking, watercycle, dragon boats, bumping boats, double watercycle boats. Or activities with professional training on the field like sailing boats, bamboo rafts. Visitors was able to buy the special experience ticket, with reasonable price the ticket was very popular.
Fifty meters of distance from the harbor, there were established a platform separately to provide visitors a place for rest and enjoy the scene of the sea, the Mt. Dawu, the redwood bush and water birds. Furthermore, there were also provide five days and four nights or three days and two nights of marine camping, provide intermediate school or up to college, parents and kids to apply for the experience of all the on-land and on-sea activities.
