1‧Supply of Fishery Related Materials
Fishermen's associations on behalf of fishermen mange duty-free imports, or purchase, supply, and ration jointly transactions of the following materials which are needed for fishery producing operations: fishing vessel equipment; fishing salt; fishing oil; life-saving equipment; aquaculture fish diet; and other necessary articles. Aiming to provide service to fishermen, not for the purpose of profits, fishermen's associations manage the business of supplying of fishery related materials. By so doing, they help reduce fishermen's financial burdens, reduce their operational costs, and raise fishermen's income.
2‧Supply of Daily Commodities
There are many remote fishing villages which are short of sufficient transportation links to the cities. Accordingly, it is difficult and very inconvenient for local fishermen and seamen of those temporarily portcalling fishing vessels to buy daily commodities. Under the assistance and guidance of the government, several fishermen's associations have established shopping centers for fishermen which provide the daily commodities. Fishermen enjoy visiting the centers because of their lower prices.
