The purpose of fishermen's associations managing common transportation and marketing businesses is to increase the added value of fish products. The common transportation and marketing operations start wity gathering fishermen's fish products. After completing the selecting, sorting, classifying, and packing processes and the frozen storage stages to ensure maintenance of good quality and freshness, the fish products are then disttibuted of fish markets at consuming sites to be auctioned and traded, or to be sold directly to larger group consumers. This helps shorten the flow of transportatin and marketing, save on operational costs, and raise fishermen's earnings. The fish products joining the common transportation and marketing operation include the following: deep sea frozen fish catches, offshore large shipments of frozen stored fish catches, aquaculture fresh water milk fish, tiger shrimp, and clams.
