Asian fishing boat teams will be forced back out the South African fish market

The head of South Africa environmental Department – Mr. Valli Moosa, pointed out that for the executing policy of preventing foreign fishing boat taken away the marine resources in their ocean areas, they will stop the cooperate fishing agreement between South African and Japan after six months. The agreement allows 69 Japanese long-lining fish boats operate in the South African ocean regions, but during the agreement deferred period, the umber of fish boats that allowed to enter the region will reduced to 55. The fishing boats have to operate under the condition of observer(s) accompanies at side with satellites tracing system, and cannot operate within 24 sea miles from the coastline.

Furthermore, South Africa government allows 12 Taiwan fishing boats to operate within the ocean regions, but for this the South Africa has indicates that they will not continue the contract at the end of the year. For the local fishing industry it sure is good news, because the South Africa will finally have its own tuna fishing industry. The Cape Town Commercial parliament members, however, are doubt about does this action has regarded all the financial issues? Because the Asian fishing boats has great contribution to the inventory transporting, frozen storage, repair and harbor fees, which is helpful for the Western side of economic developments.
